Last night, even though I’ve been feeling somewhat rundown, I went outdoors for some fresh air...
God blessed me with a sky lover’s surprise: six shining stars twinkling in the darkness.
Whenever I would go outdoors in the evenings, I’d always find myself looking skywards in search of a star or two. I’ve been doing this for many years. I think it’s because I’m something of a perpetual dreamer, my mind easily wandering off to faraway places.
If anyone knows about prisons and their high-intensity lighting systems, these lights are bright enough to actually block most of the stars from view. Yet if one were to walk several hundred feet away from the facility, he’d be able to see hundreds of them on a clear night.
So seeing a star is always a treat for me, and today I saw six of them. They were far apart from each other, but clearly visible, and there was a brilliant, banana-shaped yellow moon to go along with the show, as well. It was the stars, however, which brought joy to my soul.
