I awoke this morning to find lots of heavy snowflakes falling to the ground...
It's a snowstorm. I knew it was coming as the weather reports from the local news stations were warning of it. But the best news for me is that I don't have to go to work. It's a "snow day."
My boss had obviously called the prison that she wasn't coming in today. There were a number of school and vocational shops that were canceled as well. The announcement of all the closings was broadcast over the facility's public address system.
So I am off from work, and I'm happy. I have a day all to myself. It's only mid-morning and I've gotten several letters done. Now I'm writing in my journal. I'm thankful for a day's break from an otherwise hectic schedule.
