Let every thing that has breath
praise the lord. Praise the Lord!
Psalm 150:6
Today we had a marvelous time of worship in the chapel...
praise the lord. Praise the Lord!
Psalm 150:6
Today we had a marvelous time of worship in the chapel...
In addition to our chaplain and his message, we were visited by two women from a local church. One of whom was 63, the other 71. They fired up the congregation with songs of worship. Even many of the prisoners whom I'd never seen standing before when songs were sung, were up on their feet clapping their hands and praising God. Those ladies gave our church a much needed holy jolt.
I believe our time of intense and prolonged praise helped lift the heavy cloud of oppression which often tries to hover over the congregation. I know there is joy and freedom in worshipping the Lord and in singing praises to Him with grateful hearts. Men, by nature, and especially in this environment, are usually very reserved. We've been taught, even without being conscious of it, to hide our emotions behind masks of indifference and hostility.
But today it was time to break through the darkness. It was time for the men to get into the "Spirit." And we did. The Lord dwells among the praises of His people. Now my hope is that our precious sisters in the faith come back, and soon!
