Once again, I had the privilege of directing the worship service on Sunday...
I never take such an assignment lightly. I also believe it is the Holy Spirit who's in control, and He is doing the directing and leading. In essence, I am only a small component of His work.
In any event, my messages and exhortations are usually simple and hopefully easy to understand, as many of these dear brothers are not very knowledgeable of the scriptures, nor can they comprehend everything because of various learning disabilities, while a great many are wise in the Word of God, too.
So my ten-minute message was on the Lord's love for us, and His faithfulness never to leave us as orphans or unwanteds. That our heavenly Father doesn't view us, even though we are convicted felons, the way society does. Included in His plans, I told the congregation, are repentant prisoners. Men and women who know Christ, and who love Him. Because those who have been forgiven much, love much (Luke 7:47).
My main text, however, was Hebrews chapter thirteen, verses five and six, which say in part that Jesus will never abandon His children. And how we can boldly declare that Christ is our divine helper. He truly is!
