After much prayer along with godly counsel from a few trusted friends, I have made my decision not to take the job as a cook...
I am going to keep what I have, which consists of working with the men who live at the prison's Intermediate Care Program in the afternoons, and working as a washer in the kitchen in the evenings.
As I wrote in my journal on January l6 and February 2, I had been offered a lucrative and trusted position as a cook. However, this was not for me.
Although a few of my co-workers in the kitchen and the civilian staff were a little disappointed when I explained my reasons for declining the offer, they were all very understanding; they were okay with it.
So for now I am going to keep washing pots and pans. It's hard but honest work. I have peace about it, too.
Amen!
