Fear God, and give glory to Him for the hour
of His judgment has come: and worship Him
that made heaven and earth, and the sea,
and the fountains of waters.

Revelation 14:7
During the past week, I have been reading through portions of the book of Revelation...
And this morning I was discussing some of my insights from Revelation with a friend. I shared with him how we Christians usually think of Revelation as a book of judgment where the wrath of God comes upon a lost world of Christ-hating, sinful rebels, and God's justice is thus rightfully meted out upon them.
But only recently have I also begun to see it as a book of praise, worship and thanksgiving, too. Here we see saints and angels praising the Lord together. In Revelation, it is revealed how people from all tribes and nationalities are gathered around God's throne, in perfect unity, everyone giving glory to the Lamb of God and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, who is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
Even the elders who sit on their respective lesser thrones are seen as giving the Lord Jesus praise and glory as each casts his crown at Christ's feet. For no one but the Lord is worthy of such worship. In Heaven, everything that has breath will be praising the Lord (Psalm 150:6). I cannot wait to get there!
