Today is the Jewish holiday known as Purim...
Many Jews throughout the world celebrate this holiday by exchanging gifts with family and friends as a reminder of their deliverance from the destructive plot of a man by the name of Haman.
Haman wanted to destroy the Hebrew race, but his plan was foiled through an act of God. In fact, the wicked Haman ended up going to the very gallows he made for someone else. The Lord arranged it so that the table was turned on the enemy of His people. And the full account of this story can be found in the Old Testament book of Esther.
Therefore, with this story of God's faithfulness and His ability to deliver His people in mind, today is also going to be my last day (unless the Lord directs otherwise) for me to be the church's worship leader and pastor. I will continue, however, to remain active in my service to the Lord, and to the church. But for now, after what has been a long wait, a mature and spiritually able-bodied individual will be taking my place, at least until further notice.
It will be a gradual transition, and it's not a change that has been "written in stone." Yet, if all goes well, my replacement will remain in this position for many years to come. This is an answer to my prayers!
