As another year comes to an end...
I can look back and say with confidence that all the challenges and difficulties I faced this year were worth it. Yes, I am ending 2023 feeling weary and exhausted. But that's okay. Such things are to be expected when one is in a war, albeit in my case it's a spiritual one. Even the military recognizes this. They call it "battle fatigue" or "shell shock," which many a combat weary soldier may become afflicted with. Hence, the saying, "War is hell!"
Nevertheless, no matter how difficult and challenging were my trials, the Lord has once again allowed me to triumph over them. And the warfare is not over yet. But what I do know is that the battle belongs to the Lord, and the victory is through Him. While at the same time, my faith is growing stronger.
Thus, the Lord's words for me as the year comes to end are, "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10) and "The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace" (Exodus 14:14).
