Yesterday, my chaplain returned to duty...
He came back to his office after being out on medical leave since November of last year. That's eleven months. Serious health issues and a bad injury kept him away. It was nice seeing him again. Of course, I filled him in on what has transpired in his absence.
I could see he's still not at one hundred percent health, but he was happy to be back. The congregation missed him. During the time he was gone, we lost a number of members to transfers. Covid put some of us out of circulation for a while, as well. But a couple of new members entered our little flock, too. They were already believers in Jesus Christ, but transferred into the facility from other prisons.
Although our weekend worship services have long since been stopped due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we were fortunate to have been able to continue our Tuesday and Thursday evening Bible studies. Without our pastor, and without our volunteers from the outside, we had favor from the prisons’ administration to do the Bible studies by ourselves. I was allowed to cover the class on Tuesdays, while another member of the congregation taught on Thursdays.
God always makes a way for His children. I am likewise thankful for everyone who had been praying for my chaplain. Thank you!
