My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

It was an unexpected appointment. It can at times be a hectic position. I’ve definitely been feeling an increase in my overall level of stress. Sometimes my chest would begin to tighten, too.
Frankly, much of the time and energy spent on the job consists of doing pointless paperwork. It’s work that the prison’s administration wants for filing purposes, and it will probably never be needed for anything, or even read. But I’ve got to do it.
My concern is that the job has already taken away some of the time I’d usually allot for answering mail and writing in my journal. I’m not happy about it. But I want to do a good job because when all is said, I’m really serving the Lord, not man.
Each day I have to look to Jesus for my help, and for a daily portion of strength, patience, and peace of mind.
