Remember ye not the former things,
neither consider the things of old.
Isaiah 43:18
A new year is about to begin...
neither consider the things of old.
Isaiah 43:18
A new year is about to begin...
I'd like to see it as a new season in the journey I call life. I also want to believe that God will have something special for me to do in 2017 that will bring honor to His name.
Yet I know that intense trials and storms await me, as well. This is because of the 40th anniversary of my arrest which is coming up in August. In fact, within the past several months more than a dozen media outlets have already written to ask for my participation in their upcoming documentaries and projects. But I am not interested in any of this.
I also know that, as per the September 30th issue of Entertainment weekly magazine, Fox television is still moving forward with their six-part "Son of Sam" miniseries. FOX first went public with the news of their proposed miniseries in September 2014. While shortly after making the announcement they slipped below the radar to keep the project quiet. This is disheartening to know a crime story miniseries is on the way, but, there's nothing I can do about it.
However I wish to state that I have nothing against those in the media or entertainment industry. It's their job to bring into the public arena whatever subjects or topics they think people would be interested in, while hoping for a financial profit too.
But for the record, I think it is important that I state in my own words that, unbeknownst to many, my permission and cooperation is not required for media outlets or production companies to market and present to the public anything about the Son of Sam case, or about my life.
I want to say this, and need to, because I am often asked by curious individuals if I had given my permission for such and such a film or television show to be made, or for the mention of me in either a fiction or non-fiction publication. The answer is, no.
Neither have I ever sought financial profit from movies, television shows, magazine articles or books. I have received no payments or royalties of any kind, contrary to popular assumption. I have maintained this stance for decades, and this is all I could say on the matter.
