Oftentimes, it comes from unexpected places. While it is, in a sense, my story of forgiveness, redemption, and hope, it’s really Christ’s story of what He has done in my life.
In the New Testament’s book of the Revelation, the saints in heaven are seen casting their crowns at the Lord’s feet. They’re doing this at the realization that He alone is worthy. It is Jesus who deserves all the credit for their salvation. It is never through the efforts of men and women, and by their trying to earn it.
With this in mind, I want to declare that my story is not really mine at all. Rather, it is the story of the Lord Jesus Christ reaching down into the mud and dirt I was living in, and rescuing me from my own sinful and self-destructive ways. All glory, honor, and credit to Him.
