I suppose the above verse of Scripture pretty much strips away any thought that we as Christians may fall victim into believing that life is a “bowl of cherries.”
That our Lord has saved and called us that we might be prosperous, always grinning from ear to ear, and that living on this planet will be a life of endless ease and bright rainbows.
Having a personal relationship with Jesus means sharing in His joy and happiness, and having His supernatural peace on the inside. But it also means prolonged and endless warfare against the world, the flesh, and the Devil.
Make no mistake about it. The Devil is out for the kill. But as a disciple of Jesus Christ, we have the victory over all the powers of darkness.
