As my friends know, the Psalms are one of my favorite sections of the Scriptures next to the stories of Esther and Ruth...
They have brought me much comfort, strength, and hope as I live out my days in prison. While during my stay in the hospital the Psalms helped to sustain my spirit and nourish my soul.
No doubt King David, who wrote a majority of the psalms that now make up the Holy Bible, would be happy to know just how many people from all walks of life have also turned to his writings for the same reasons.
I know, too, that one day I will get to meet King David, the man known in the Scriptures as the “sweet psalmist of Israel.” I will thank David when I see him. So will multitudes of others, as well, as we have all drawn our strength and hope from his anointed and Holy Spirit inspired words.
