Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall
flourish in the courts of our God. They shall bring
forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.

The other day, a friend told me about an article which appeared in the New York Daily News, a popular tabloid in New York City...
The article, which I did not see but was read to me over the phone, claimed that I have chosen to "rot" in prison as opposed to having a lawyer whom I know file papers in my behalf to appeal my forty-year-old sentence. I was stunned!
Well the truth is, that while I certainly don't want to be in prison forever, I am not rotting away. On the contrary, my life, even in this difficult environment, is flourishing, and this is only because the Lord is with me. He has long since infused my soul with hope. By God's grace, I am doing many good things with my life.
Really, there's nothing I could do about the likes of such inaccurate and nonsensical reports. But I do wish to state that even if I am never released, I will continue to serve my Savior with all my heart. I refuse to roll over and die. For me, rotting away is not an option.
