Here is a portion of a letter I sent to a couple whom I have been friends with for many years...
I hope that anyone who reads this and who believes in the Lord, will be encouraged or helped in their walk with Christ.
"Many times we become blind to spiritual things. So the Lord needs to make
things more clear to us. This way we'd always make the right choices in each
situation. After all, we are, I believe, works in progress. We are always learning
and growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.
As I look back on my life, I know there were many times, as a Christian, that I
messed up, made blunders concerning various decisions, and had to learn from
these things. Thankfully the Lord is a patient teacher.
Like the Israelites when they took a forty year journey through the desert and
probably passed through the same areas over and over because they were slow
to learn what God was trying to teach them, we may have to experience the same.
Not going through an actual desert, of course, but revisiting situations so that we
can better discern God's will and make the right choices next time. We need to have
a teachable attitude, too."
