For Thou, Lord, hast made me glad
through Thy work; I will triumph in
the works of Thy hands.
Psalm 92:4
Within the past couple of days, I have received much encouragement...

the works of Thy hands.

On Wednesday, I had a spiritually productive time-sharing Christ and the Scriptures with "Little Johnny."
He is one of the men who resides at the prison’s Intermediate Care Program cell block because he suffers from various mental health issues. Johnny recently started attending chapel services, however. And during our conversation, he told me that he’s really "searching hard" for God. I said to him that he doesn’t have to look very far. Christ, I explained, is knocking at the door of his heart right now.
Then yesterday, I had the opportunity to have a long conversation with Donald. He’s an older black man in his sixties who’s been in prison for more than 20 years. He is doing a life sentence, too. While Johnny is doing a six-year sentence to include five years of intense parole supervision that’s awaiting him upon release.
Nevertheless, finding men to talk to whose hearts are open to the things of God makes me happy. For there are many days when my fellow inmates show no interest in conversing about Christ or the Bible. But now my soul has been warmed by these two men. No doubt, the work of God triumphs.
