We also spoke about the apostle Paul as an example of a godly man who had to endure many beatings and imprisonment, too, as part of his service to Christ and the church. Yet while Paul was confined to a dark dungeon, he was moved by the Holy Spirit to pen these words: "Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, rejoice" (Philippians 4:4).
Then, as my friend and I were talking, I pulled out of my pocket my little Gideons Testament, and we looked at a portion of the 92nd Psalm. God’s children shall flourish like palm trees that have been planted by streams of fresh water. I added that this applies to all the saints no matter where He has us planted, to include prison.
Truthfully, the Lord has allowed me to flourish, spiritually. He has caused me to blossom like a fruitful plant, even in this place. He is always faithful, and God is good.
