There are times when I want to just stop what I'm doing…
...bow my head, and give thanks to God for the grace, mercy, and love He has shown me throughout all my years of incarceration. Looking back, I see the many ways the Lord has watched over me. He has been faithful to guide my steps, keep me from danger, and allow me to have good health.
But in addition to this, He has allowed my story of forgiveness, redemption, and hope to travel to many places. In fact, within the past few weeks my friend Mark, who is a member of the Gideons, traveled with a group of lay ministers to distribute Bibles in the African nation of Uganda. He also took along with him copies of my small testimony pamphlet "Son of Hope," which has been in circulation for at least twenty years. They will give these out to whoever wants one.
In addition, another friend has been sharing my story of salvation in and around his neighborhood on the island nation of New Zealand. While friends from southern California who often travel into Mexico to do a work of evangelism through their church to the mostly poor and destitute in the towns in and around the city of La Paz, will on occasion likewise hand out copies of Son of Hope in Spanish, when appropriate.
For me, to have these opportunities to lift up my Savior's name, is a joy to my heart. I know my work for Him is not done. I've got a lot of traveling yet to do.
