For the kingdom of God is
not in word, but in power.
1 Corinthians 4:20
Once again, I wish to thank those who have been so kind as to pray for and care about incarcerated individuals like me…

As I have said many times throughout the years, God is actively at work in jails and prisons. Wherever there are lost souls and lives that have been ruined by sin, there you will find Jesus. In His own words as recorded in the Scriptures, Jesus said, "I have come to seek and to save those who are lost" (Luke 19:10).
Here at Shawangunk Correctional Facility, we are still awaiting a new chaplain. Our former chaplain and pastor retired in early December after twenty years of service. His replacement, however, is yet to arrive pending approval at the upper levels of New York State's Department of Corrections.
Thankfully, however, prison officials at Shawangunk have allowed the Christian prisoners to continue our weekly meetings in the main chapel. We conduct our own studies, with several of the more spiritually mature men doing the teaching in absence of a chaplain and our usual outside civilian volunteers. We still have our monthly prayer meetings, as well.
God has allowed our little church that's behind the walls to receive favor. Thus far, we have never betrayed their trust. The doors to the chapel remain open, and this is a blessing and a gift from God.
