All we like sheep have gone astray; we have
turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord
has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:6
If anyone should be blamed for Jesus' death on the cross, it is me…
turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord
has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:6
If anyone should be blamed for Jesus' death on the cross, it is me…
My sins and crimes nailed him there, but his love for me held him there. Jesus died because of my transgressions. This is true for all of us. As the words from the pen of the prophet Isaiah so clearly state, "All we like sheep have gone astray." Our innate fallen nature has led us far from God. With hardened, self-centered hearts, we wandered until Jesus made a way for us to get back to the One who created us.
Speaking for myself, I was a lost soul who thought I was without hope. Looking back, I now realize I had been stumbling along in utter spiritual darkness. I was deceived by the belief that my life had little meaning. I found myself struggling along since early adolescence as I battled depression and thoughts of suicide. It was only by God's grace that my life did not come to an early end.
So on this day when Christ's resurrection is celebrated throughout the world, I find myself meditating on His mercy and goodness. I bow my heart in gratitude for such a wonderful and amazing salvation. I thank my Savior for loving me and sparing my life.
Messiah Jesus is no longer in the grave. He's alive! By dying willingly on Calvary's cross, He washed away all my sins with His own sinless blood. The One who was not guilty of any wrongdoing, died for someone who was guilty. Me!
Such a love is beyond my comprehension.
