Sadly, a suicide took place here a couple of weeks ago...
A young man in his 20s took his life. My chaplain had to break the news to his family. As far as I know, the man was not a Christian.
While only a couple of days ago, an inmate who lived seven cells away from me, died. He was in his early 60s. He’d been in poor health for a long time, and just keeled over. His possessions have since been picked up by the corrections staff and will be placed in storage to allow time for his family to claim them. If his belongings remain unclaimed after thirty days, everything will be
discarded or donated, as per procedure.
I’d spoken with the older man on many occasions. Now he’s gone. Neither was he a believer in Christ. He was friendly and easy to talk to, however. But when it came to talking about God, he made it clear he wasn’t interested. Only the night before his passing, he was busy watching television. We just never know when it will be our time to leave this world and step into eternity.
