There are many times when I will tell the Lord of my deepest longings...
I would tell Him of my hurts and concerns, and even my fears. Yes, even brave King David who single-handedly slew the giant Goliath, and led Israel into many victorious battles, had times of fear. In one psalm he wrote, "Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in Thee" (Psalm 56:3).
For me, it is often in the quiet times of the morning, before sunrise, when I will have my most intimate talks with my heavenly Father. While at other times it will be late at night, my voice very low as I whisper my prayers.
Even now, as I gather the things I need to take to work with me - ID card, Program card, pen and a writing pad - I'm thinking how grateful I should be for having the privacy of a prison cell. To have, in a way, turned a prison cell made for punishment, into a prayer room. And this is what it is, a place to meet alone, just me and Jesus.
