Because I'd been in the same cell for just over a year, I was ordered to move into another cell down the tier...
So shortly after lunch, I began to pack my belongings and relocate to a new cell. And now I'm here, two cells from where I'd been previously.
It was exhausting to pack up and carry my possessions to a new location, and then unpack. In fact, I'm still unpacking, and will probably continue the process well into tomorrow. But for now everything is in disarray.
Ever since those two inmates escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility in June of 2015, prison officials have issued a policy where, unless absolutely necessary, an inmate will have to move to a different cell every year. They don't want a prisoner to get too comfortable or overly familiar with a particular location, hence today's move.
