As I penned in yesterday's journal entry, the signs of summer are now showing themselves...
Last night biting bugs and the pungent scent of skunks in mating wafted across the recreation yard. While this morning, when I returned to the yard, I was greeted with high humidity.
But on a good note, I found two friends who belong to our chapel's fellowship. It was too hot and humid to do much walking, and the yard was crowded too. So the three of us opted to hang out along the high concrete wall, and talk. We took turns reading from our Bibles. I took my pocket-size New Testament with Psalms out with me. As it turned out, my friends did the same.
It was a morning to relax and fellowship together. We enjoyed each other's company. We talked, and we each said a brief prayer in the final minutes before the yard period was over. It was a pleasant morning.
