I have pretty much settled in to my new cell after last week's move...
Ask any inmate, and more than likely he will tell you that he hates having to relocate to another cell. It's a
lot of work, packing and unpacking, and cleaning. And while I don't like moving, as I wrote in my last entry for March, my move turned out to be a blessing.
It was exhausting to pack up and carrying my belongings upstairs. But, fortunately for me, a number of men who had just come off their shift in the prison's kitchen came over and gave me a hand.
But going back upstairs and moving next door to the cell I had previously occupied, was worth the work. I'm now a comfortable distance from someone who exuded a high level of evil. He was, by his very Presence, a source of great emotional and even spiritual discomfort. So the move was something of a surprise deliverance.
In addition, I am now next door to my friend, Joe. Unfortunately, he has cancer and is very sick. But now that we're neighbors again, I can check up on him every day. God is good!
