Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not
unto thine own understanding. In all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Yet, the Lord made a way for me to attend all the Bible studies and services that are held on various days and at various times in the chapel. So on this Saturday afternoon I joined about two dozen fellow prisoners to meet our scheduled guest who came to bring us the Word of God.
His message fit my situation perfectly - Learning to trust in the Lord. Although I've been a Christian for more than twenty-five years, I know there is always a need for my faith to grow. Therefore, as I sat in the chapel still in a deep state of shock and disbelief at my sudden and most unwelcome transfer, the Lord made sure that today's sermon was going to hit me right in my heart.
The preacher took the congregation to the Old Testament book of the prophet, Daniel. First, he shared the story of the three young Hebrew men who had been thrown alive into a blazing furnace, for their refusal to commit idolatry by bowing down to the king. We then turned to the story of Daniel himself, who'd been cast alive into a den of hungry lions.
For the three young men, as well as for Daniel, their situations meant sudden death. Yet in both instances the Lord intervened and all were delivered without harm. Thus making the message personal, God is with His children in their difficult and sometimes very dangerous circumstances. He is with me now!
