All we like sheep have gone astray: we have
turned every one to his own way: And the
Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:6

Isaiah 53:6
Today begins the Jewish holiday known as Passover...
And while I am not a religious person, Passover is for me a time for reflection.
Traditionally, I will read what I believe is one of the most important and profound passages in the Old Testament. Isaiah chapter fifty-three, as it so clearly portrays Jesus (Yeshua) as the One who shall come as the suffering servant who is to conquer both sin and death by shedding His own blood as the true Passover Lamb.
Interestingly, many of my fellow Jews believe there will be two Messiahs. Messiah ben Joseph who must suffer and die for His people, then to be followed at some future time by Messiah ben David who will ultimately defeat and conquer all Israel's enemies.
But I believe both these individuals are one in the same. Jesus the Messiah. His first coming, as Isaiah's prophecy clearly reveals, is to secure salvation for His people by shedding His holy blood for our sins. While, His second appearance in the world will be to subdue evil and save the world from total destruction during the battle of Armageddon.
