I ventured outdoors this morning to spend time with my friend, Rob...
He and I try to do this every Saturday morning, weather permitting. It was chilly, but the sun was out. Its rays were warm and comforting.
Rob and I usually talk a lot about the Bible and our faith. We share prayer requests and personal concerns, as well as discuss current events, at least as much as we could keep up with in prison.
Afterwards, I spent the early part of the afternoon washing clothes in the community sink, which is downstairs on the first floor of the building I live in. I have to share it with 63 other men.
Later I wrote a few letters. One was to my friend, John H. John is 80 years old and lives with his wife in Florida. A former professional musician who played for some well known bands in years past, he's been a lay minister who's been going into local prisons for twenty-five years.
While another letter was to another friend with the same first name. This John lives in the city of Yellowknife, which is located in Canada's Northwest Territories. He, too, is involved in jail and prison ministry.
All told, it has been a productive day.
