"Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised
and His greatness is unsearchable."
Psalm 145:3 KJV
This morning, I was told to report to the prison's package room...
and His greatness is unsearchable."
Psalm 145:3 KJV
This morning, I was told to report to the prison's package room...
I happen to have Monday mornings off from my work assignment. So being summoned to the package room to pick up a parcel is part of the normal routine. Other men were called as well, as they too had something to pick up and sign for.
As is the procedure, all those showing up at the package room have to go into a nearby waiting area until each man gets called, one at a time, to the pickup window. So I took a seat in the waiting area with about fifteen other men. And this is where I found my friend Donald. He and I belong to the facility's Christian fellowship group. Thus, for the two of us it was a chance to socialize, and to encourage each other in our like faith.
And that's just what we did. Instead of focusing on the usual prison gossip, he and I began to talk about God's goodness, and how much He loves us. Then, before we knew it, our names were called. He picked up his package, and I picked up mine.
Next, we waited for an officer to come and escort us to our respective housing units. But it was a morning well spent. In a crowded and noisy waiting area, Donald and I were able to spend about 45 minutes talking about the greatness of the God we both love and serve.
