As I watch the news on television and see all the destruction the war is bringing to Ukraine by Russia...
...and as the death toll mounts on both sides, all I can do is pray. While at the same time, as the terrorist group, Hamas, continues to antagonize Israel by firing rockets at its soldiers, and into its towns and cities, causing Israel's powerful military to retaliate, what can I do but pray?
Today, Gaza is at levels of destruction that are indescribable. Whole cities look as if they were hit by atomic bombs. The piles of rubble from flattened apartment buildings seem to stretch as far as the eye can see. While children can be seen running up and down the dusty streets.
Deadly wars, civil unrest, and starvation, are occurring in lesser known places as well. Such as in the African nations of Sudan, Uganda, Niger, and Burkina Faso. In Nigeria, it's been open season on Christians, as those who believe in Jesus are being murdered in massive numbers. So much so that it's now being reported by the mainstream media. Whereas in the past, the media deliberately hid the news about acts of religious based persecution and martyrdom.
But Messiah Jesus prophesied some two thousand years ago that there would be "wars and rumors of wars" continuing until the very end of the age, even increasing and intensifying as time goes on. Other warning signs include earthquakes and famines, turmoil among nations (Matthew 24:6-7), outbreaks of diseases, as well as lots of self-centered living, all before judgment comes (2 Timothy 3:1-4).
Christ tells us in Matthew 24:36-39, "For as it were in the days of Noah, so will it be before the coming of the Son of Man's [Jesus' return]." Before the flood, people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. These people ignored Noah's warnings until the storm was upon them. The flood came and swept them all away.
Therefore, in light of all the turmoil that is happening in the world today, I believe the days of trouble and tribulation are coming closer. While no one knows the day nor the hour, I want to humbly assure the readers of my journal that it's only a matter of time before all the words of Messiah Jesus and the prophets are fulfilled.
