... I want to take the time to thank the Lord for all the kind, compassionate and loving people He has placed in my life. Although I am doing a life sentence behind prison walls, my heavenly Father has made sure that I am not doing the time alone.
As King David declared in the 23rd Psalm, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life," is as true for me today, as it was for Israel's most famous King in the past. Simply put, God has been good to me. He has allowed me the privilege and joy of having many devoted friends, some of whom I have now known for several decades.
As a convicted felon, I will be the first to say how undeserving I am to have these people come into my life, all of them without my asking. In fact, a number of them have already passed into eternity. They've gone to be with Messiah Jesus, while I eagerly await my turn to join them in heaven.
So during this fall season, where the trees have for the most part lost their leaves, and the weather has gotten colder as another long winter has begun to settle in, I can rejoice in knowing that God has put people in my life who love me for who I am today, and not who I was when Satan had me as one of his slaves.
Truly, I can say from the vantage point of the present, that God is good. His mercy endures forever. He is a beautiful God, and He has brought beautiful people into my life.
