"I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me."
Psalm 3:5 NKJV
My time in the Infirmary was not wasted...
Psalm 3:5 NKJV
My time in the Infirmary was not wasted...
Although I was unable to attend chapel services and Bibles studies, or fellowship with my Christian brothers, I was definitely able to spend time with Jesus. So for the past month and a half, the Lord was my sole companion. I kept my Bible was right alongside me, as well, and
always within easy reach.
Thus, I used my time in isolation wisely. I had my own room, a bed, and a view of the woods from my window. And between the three of us - the Lord Jesus, my Bible, and me - I was able to do a lot of reading and learning as I dug deep into the Word of God in an environment where it was quiet.
I was alone with the Lord and free of distractions. So other than the nurses dropping by several times a day to give me my medications and take my blood pressure, or the inmate orderly coming by to drop off my food tray, the quietness was something to be enjoyed. I saw it as a gift from heaven.
Meanwhile, I hope to soon share with the readers of my journal some of what the Lord gave me while I was shut in with Him. I feel well rested and refreshed. Truly, God has been good to me.
