Because we are living in times when so many feel as if they have no hope…
…I am convinced that a loving God has placed a longing in the hearts of His servants to help those who see no way out of their situation. He is reaching out to those whose lives are unfulfilled, and who are struggling with sin, yet seem to have no power to get free.
Concerning my inward longing to bring hope to this generation, and so many who are destroying their lives, it is no surprise that an almighty God would see to it that I would meet other people who have the same goals and vision. Thus, when Darrell Scott, a loving father who lost his daughter, Rachel, to gun violence during the Columbine high school massacre, started corresponding with me, the Lord began to knit our hearts together. He brought Darrell and I into one accord to honor the Lord and to honor his daughter,
And as expected, not everyone can understand why a man whose daughter was murdered as a martyr for Christ, and a man who is a convicted mass murderer, would find anything in common. But those who have criticized our relationship have sadly left “God” out of the equation (Luke 6:37).
Within the past year the Lord did a wonderful miracle. Mr. Scott and I have become friends. He is a fine father who is raising his children. Darrell has a loving wife, Sandy. He lives with the grief of having buried his seventeen-year-old daughter.
Darrell Scott is now a minister and messenger of God's comfort and compassion.* Through him God is touching the lives of many people. Since his daughter's death in 1999, Darrell has been telling all who will listen, that love and kindness can conquer evil. I, too, share the same message.
