"As the deer pants for streams of fresh water, so my soul yearns and pants for you, Oh God."
Psalm 42:1
I saw some baby deer the other day...
Psalm 42:1
I saw some baby deer the other day...
They feel safe hanging out near the prison's razor wire security fences at the rear of the facility. I'm certain the deer trust us because we never shoot at them. They know us as "the guys without guns."
But when they get closer to the local towns, out come the people with rifles. The deer know them as "the bad guys who shoot at us for sport and food." Those poor deer must be so confused.
Animals can usually sense when a human is a threat, and when he's not. I'm glad the wild deer who abound in the woods feel safe around us. I love watching them, and they know it.
To the deer, I'm the guy with the familiar face. They always see me waving and smiling. Why? Because they've given me much to smile about. Their presence is a gift from God.
