As far as the east is from the west, so far has
He removed our transgressions from us.

To know that the Lord will no longer hold my sins and crimes against me is emancipating. It provides me with a sense of freedom from something so dark and emotionally painful, that cannot be put into words.
And although I believe and rejoice in God's promises of forgiveness of my sins, since I have already placed my faith in the Lord Jesus and on His shed blood, one of the biggest challenges and struggles I have is in dealing with my past. Being that I have the ability to remember things, whether it was something recent or many years ago, the memory bank that's in my brain doesn't easily forget.
Now, if I'm remembering something good, that's okay. But if it's bad, it could be problematic. I know this firsthand because I have bad memories, which unfortunately do come to the surface on occasion. In fact, Satan will make sure this is the case. Because he knows that if he could get me to focus on the bad things I did that I'm ashamed of, he could begin to implant feelings of guilt and shame, and condemnation, which will lead to depression and despair. Which inturn will make me powerless and ineffective in my life as a follower of Jesus.
But the good news is that, whenever this happens, and I begin to recognize what's going on inside my mind, I can call upon Messiah Jesus for help. And by using the Word of God and being clothed with the spiritual armor He has provided me with (see Ephesians 6:10-18), I can begin to resist the devil's lies. Hence, the promise that I am always "More than a conqueror" through Christ who loves me (Romans 8:37).
However, it has taken me years of study, and many stumblings along the way, to grasp these truths. But now I am better able to recognize the devil's schemes and to take authority over his attempts to afflict me with the demons of guilt, shame, condemnation, and more.
