The holy Bible lets us know that the Devil hates God, and he despises humanity...
Also, how he has come to "steal, kill, and destroy." While the Lord Jesus, however, has come to save those who are lost in their sins, and to restore their lives from the damage sin has caused, after having given themselves over to Satan's temptations. As one Scripture puts it, "For this purpose the Son of God has come, that He might destroy the works of the devil" (First John 3:8b).
So as it stands today, the devil seeks to ruin lives and leave them abandoned and broken, as one might dump an old rusty car into a junkyard. Satan, I believe, sees prison as a convenient place to toss badly damaged individuals, leaving them to rot.
But not so with the Lord. When Jesus sees a sin-damaged soul, He looks to rebuild and restore it back to life. He sees broken men and women through eyes of hope. The Lord desires to undo the devil's damage. He takes Satan's victims into His strong yet tender arms to fix what's broken, and to heal all their scathing wounds.
Jesus not only rescues them from the devil's grip, but He will put their lives back into service to where he could use them to help others break free from Satan's chains of bondage, too. Thus, making their lives even better than they were before the devil seduced them with his lies.
This is what Jesus did for me! In years past, I was a young, incarcerated man at the age of twenty-four, who was rotting away in Satan's junkyard. But the Lord found me and rescued me. While many years have passed since then.
I have no doubt that if Messiah Jesus had not found me when He did, I would not be alive today. I'd have long since entered into eternity never to have tasted the joy of redemption, nor the power and victory of restoration.
