Leave it to the Lord to do what would be impossible for mere mortals to accomplish…
Last week I visited a prison in the nation of Portugal. Well, it was actually a stand-in, and not me in person. But the Lord, knowing my passion for sharing my testimony, sent someone to go and speak on my behalf. And he himself didn't even know the Lord put him on a mission to do this. So once again, I could say that with God all things are possible.
The story begins with a postal letter from a friend, Ron, who lives in Portugal with his family. Ron loves doing prison ministry work. So on the day he entered the prison to visit with the inmates to share God's word with them, to his surprise there was another minister who was speaking to
the men about Christ, and he was speaking about me, too.
Therefore, Ron shared the following in his letter, “Last week I visited a prison in my country. And there was a prominent Portuguese evangelist who spoke about you. I was amazed. He told the inmates your story from Son of Sam to Son of Hope. So your testimony really does go around the world, even without you knowing it.”
Reading the letter left me stunned. “Who is this evangelist?” I wondered. He's apparently well known in Portugal. Learning of this, I could not help but bow my head and my heart, giving thanks to the Lord for allowing me the privilege of lifting up His name in foreign land.
The Lord's goodness is beyond my comprehension. To know that He is using my life for His good purposes, fills my heart with joy. Truly nothing is too hard for Him. He's a God of mercy, and of miracles, as well.
