"Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil,
as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour."
1 Peter 5:8
I just finished telling a friend how there are many good things happening in my life these days...
as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour."
1 Peter 5:8
I just finished telling a friend how there are many good things happening in my life these days...
...with opportunities to share my faith with those who don't know the Lord. That I have no time to fret and worry about what the devil is up to. I know he's up to no good, but he's always been up to no good.
Right now, by the grace of God, my story of redemption and hope is even reaching distant lands. And for this, I rejoice. The Lord is using my life for His glory. Through my testimony and the testimonies of many others, those who thought they were far beyond the reach of God's mercy and forgiveness, are not.
Instead, they are now coming to the understanding that the Lord Jesus loves them, and He longs for them to come to Him in faith. How He will never turn away anyone who desires to be forgiven and cleansed from his or her sins.
And yes, the Devil is angry. He's frustrated. And of no surprise, Satan is stepping up his attacks on Christians whenever and wherever he can. But to me this means nothing because God's word emphatically states that "Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
The Devil is no match for the Holy Spirit. So let him rage on. Let him throw tantrums and roar and scream all he wants to. Because the Scriptures declare how those who are in Messiah Jesus have already overcome our adversary. Yes, we have "overcome the wicked one" because we know who our heavenly Father is, and that His Word abides in us (1 John 2:13-14). And this is something to rejoice about. Amen!
