I am so thankful for what Christ has done in my life...
He has brought me through every struggle and storm, and there were many big ones!
I see things happening all around me to the other prisoners, some who slowly lose their minds and others who let anger and bitterness eat them alive.
But I also see God working miracles for those who come to Him in repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. I have seen men delivered from terrible addictions. Being where I am it is kind of like being on the front lines, like when Paul went into different cities far from Jerusalem where the Gospel had not yet been proclaimed.
The apostle Paul saw firsthand all the lawlessness and how these spirits of wickedness had captivated whole communities. But then, moved by the Holy Spirit, he began to boldly proclaim the Word of Life. Souls were saved and people were set free from the power of sin and from Satan's grip. I see these same things being carried out in the prison I live in.
I would hope that all Christians would lay aside their prejudicial feelings towards convicted felons. That they would begin to see things from God's eyes and what He is doing with prison ministries around the world.
Yes, I know that men and women who have committed crimes, like myself, deserve to be incarcerated. I do deserve my many life sentences. But aside from this, God is a God of mercy, and He is doing an awesome work in many correctional facilities.
