"Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him."
Psalm 37:7a
Rest and recuperation...
Psalm 37:7a
Rest and recuperation...
That's exactly what I'm in need of. In the midst of a sweltering summer and with troubles and hardships all around me, what I'm in need of most of all is lots of rest and recuperation for my weary and tired body and mind.
So this is what I need to do. I must make a better effort to slow down and truly rest in the simplicity of God's goodness. A year of strange trials as well as a peculiar series of bizarre situations has taken a toll on my overall strength and health.
Therefore, it is time to ease up on my workload. There are things I have to do as part of my job in the chapel which I could temporarily delegate to others. And although I love writing in my journal, I will try to cut back on this as well. So please expect a few less entries for the coming month.
Otherwise, all is well. The Lord is a strong tower. He's my "hiding place," (Psalm 32:7), and my place of refuge and strength when trouble comes (Psalm 46:1). Only in Jesus, and in Him alone, can I find rest for my soul, and for my body, too (see Matthew 11:28-30).
