"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but don't panic. Yes, these things must
take place, but the end won't follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts
of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come."
Matthew 24:4-8 NLT
I believe we are nearing a time in human history which the Bible refers to as the "last" or "latter days," or the "end times."

Matthew 24:4-8 NLT
I believe we are nearing a time in human history which the Bible refers to as the "last" or "latter days," or the "end times."
It will be a time of wars with many nations at odds with each other. There will be political turmoil, social unrest, economic hardships, and food shortages in certain places. And along with all this will be the growing competition for the control over the world's oil reserves.
Even now much of our news is war related. Russia versus Ukraine, the United States versus Iran, Israel versus their Arab neighbors, and more. Even lesser-known nations have their wars too.
There are civil wars being fought in Sudan and Uganda, where millions of people have already been displaced. While the long-standing tensions between India and Pakistan have resulted in gun shots and artillery being exchanged between their armies, with the loss of lives.
Yet in spite of Christ's warnings, most of humanity will continue on, oblivious to these things. They will remain ignorant to the lateness of the hour. They've already been ensnared by the allure of the world's wealth. They seek only pleasure for themselves and are fully content with all secular life has to offer. Yet there's nothing these individuals can take with them when they die.
As Messiah Jesus told the crowds who were following after Him, including the religious rulers of His day, "When the Son of man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day. In those days the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat, and the flood came and destroyed them all" (Luke 17:26-27).
He then went on to say, "And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business - eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building – until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all" (Luke 17:28-29).
In my view, biblical passages like these show the relevance of the Scriptures, and how pertinent they are to the times we're now living in. Without a doubt, the Bible is a supernatural work authored by the Lord, and given to humanity for our benefit, that we may find our way to God and make our peace with Him (2 Timothy 3:16).
As King David wrote in one of his Psalms, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105). While the apostle Paul wrote how the Scriptures were written for our learning. That they will make us wise to the way of salvation and also teach us how to lead a good and godly life. And so much more.
May our eyes be opened to see this as the truth. May our minds be opened as well to receive it as such. Amen!
