"Good news from far away is like cold water to the thirsty."

Nothing has changed, however. And both the guards who remained on their posts, as well as the majority of the prisoners, including me, now realize that the lockdown situation is not going to end any time soon, although the media is reporting that the strike is over.
While a number of correction officers have since reported back for duty, the restrictions the inmates are under remain in place. So I have to make the best of the situation, to include getting my writing done, since I have more time to spend in my cell. And more time to devote to my Bible studies, as well.
But while everyone seems to be living on speculations of what the future may hold, as a follower of Messiah Jesus, I want to live my life by faith in the Son of God, and not on the latest rumors.
But with this said, I am happy because several good reports have come my way. Within the past week, news from friends filled my heart with joy, while at the same time bringing refreshment to my thirsty soul.
My friend, Gregg, who has an extensive prison ministry in the state of California, has been sharing my story of redemption with those who are incarcerated. While another friend, who holds Bible studies in an upstate New York jail, has been doing the same thing, and with good results.
And lastly, an evangelist friend who shares the good news of Jesus within the state of Alaska, has been making my Son of Hope testimony pamphlet available to those who want to read it. For all these things and more, my heart is humbled, and I am most grateful.
"Thank you, Lord, for redeeming my life from destruction. And for using my story as an example of hope, by showing how you can and will forgive and restore even the worst of criminal offenders, who like myself, have come to you with a heart of repentance, and with godly sorrow. Amen."
