"Praise the Lord from the heavens... and all the hills, fruitful trees, and the cedars in the woods...
Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded, and they were created."
Psalm 148
It was not what Miss Goldie and Mister Orange were hoping for...
Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded, and they were created."
Psalm 148
It was not what Miss Goldie and Mister Orange were hoping for...
And I could say the same thing. We were hoping for a milder and longer autumn as opposed to a shorter and colder one. But we got the unwelcome cold snap instead.
So for the third year in a row, my beloved friends were unable to dress into their richest and most gorgeous fall colors. For Miss Goldie it was a time of deep sadness. While for a gallant Mister Orange it was intense frustration.
A pleasant autumn with favorable temperatures and levels of high quality sunshine, was not to be. But there's always next year, along with yet another lengthy lesson for me on patience and hope.
Heartbroken and disappointed, life still goes on. The magnificent displays of the golden yellow beauty of my beloved Miss Goldie's fall colors, would leave me breathless. But not this year. While the glorious resonating power of Mister Orange's commanding colors, have eluded me as well.
And so I returned from the prison's main recreation yard feeling downcast. Yet my tree friends were still beautiful. Their colors were lovely, but not in the fullest sense. To have seen the spectacular beauty of Miss Goldie at her fullest, and Mister Orange at the pinnacle of his breathtaking power, is a sight to behold. It's a tree lover’s dream.
Therefore, with deep sadness, I'm sharing with my readers who regularly ask about my friends, that you will have to wait until next spring. That's when Miss Goldie and Mister Orange will awaken from a long winter's sleep. They will once again begin to bloom anew when the warmth from the sun's early spring rays reach their branches.
Nevertheless, I rejoice because the Creator of heaven and earth continues to watch over them. He's watching over me too. So until next spring, may Miss Goldie and Mister Orange sleep away the winter's solstice in peace. And may spring come soon.
