"O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon His name... talk among yourselves
of all His wonderful works, and the great things He has done."
Psalm 105:1-2
I've been walking with the Lord long enough to know when He is orchestrating what I like to call a "divine appointment"...
of all His wonderful works, and the great things He has done."
Psalm 105:1-2
I've been walking with the Lord long enough to know when He is orchestrating what I like to call a "divine appointment"...
And this morning was one of those God ordained appointments.
Employed at the prison as a "Mobility Assistant," it's my job to take a handicap individual to the facility's infirmary for his medical needs. And that's what I did this morning. I helped a fellow prisoner get to the medical unit for his treatments.
Having dropped him off at the nurses’ station, I went into the waiting area until he was done. But it was here that I met one of the men from our Christian fellowship group. He was in the Infirmary to report for sick call and was awaiting his turn to be called in to see a nurse. So we hung out together.
And as followers of Messiah Jesus usually do, we began to talk about our wonderful God. Before we knew it, we were having a pleasant time of fellowship, each of us edifying one another as we spoke of the Lord's goodness.
After about thirty minutes or so, it was time to leave. The man I took to the Infirmary was finished with his treatment. So off we went, leaving my friend behind. However, our time of fellowship filled my heart with joy. Our conversation about God's goodness energized my soul so much that I went the remainder of the day feeling as if I was walking on air.
That's what God talk can do. It was a divine appointment ordained by the Lord himself, and I needed it.
