As this year comes to an end...
...I remain thankful for all God has done for me, and woeful about what He will do in the coming year. There are many grieving families in America these days, particularly since the September 11 terrorist attacks. But like multitudes of other Christians, I continue to pray that those who are hurting will be able to go on with their lives, and that God will bless them. So many times this year, the Lord has spoken to my heart that I am to use every avenue open to me to remind people that Jesus Christ is a God of healing and hope, and that He offers forgiveness to any who ask for it and are willing to repent of their sins.
About eight o’clock this evening, I went to the outside recreation yard for a couple of hours. It was bitterly cold, maybe fifteen degrees, but in the quiet of the winter, under the glaring spotlights along the prison walls, I felt the Holy Spirit’s warmth. Now, as the midnight hour nears, and 2001 draws to a close, I am listening to a music tape called, "Wonder," by Annie Herring. As I prepare to be ushered into God’s presence, for a time of prayer, this is just what I need to hear.
