"Hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil."

Ephesians 6:16
I am a blessed and fortunate man...
Time and again, I will see the Lord do miracles in my behalf. Even in the seemingly worst of situations, the Lord Jesus will step in to help me to stay on course.
When I am surrounded by the forces of evil, the Lord will show up. He will make His presence known. Not in a dramatic way, but in a way to where what seems to be an awful situation, He will make it disappear. And what Satan and those who hate me meant for my harm, He will turn everything around so that what comes out of it will be in my favor.
Even now, as the Berkowitz bashers go on the offense and attack my story of forgiveness, redemption and hope, the Lord has made a way for my testimony to advance. As the apostle Paul told his brothers and sisters in the church who were concerned about his well-being when they learned of his imprisonment and his struggles, "I want you to know, dear ones, that everything that happened to me has helped to spread the gospel” (see Philippians 1:12-14).
Within the past year, having been falsely accused of a crime I never committed but was found guilty of, not in a courtroom, but in a newspaper of all places, I am still maintaining my trust in God.
And being ridiculed continually by talking heads who parade themselves as "experts," and who appear regularly on various crime shows where they toss out flimsy and shallow explanations for the "Son of Sam" crimes, by the grace of God I have been able to ignore them and go on with my life.
With the Lord's help, I hope to never allow my detractors to cause me to stop sharing my faith. As long as there are people in this world who need to know about a God loves them, I will continue to share my message as best I can.
Over the years I have experienced much opposition. But God has seen me through. And I am sure that the devil and his helpers will continue to fire their blazing arrows my way. But as long as I can raise up the "shield of faith" and stay dressed in the full armor God has provided me with, I'll be okay.
