"Casting all your care upon the Lord, because He cares for you."

1 Peter 5:7
While summer's heat continues to beat down on me...
... I think of the many times I've had to endure difficult situations, sometimes even to what I thought was my breaking point. Yet, through God's grace and patience, I managed to hang in there and endure. And I'm glad that I did, because whatever it was that I was trying to deal with, it ultimately worked out well.
It seems that with each passing day, the Lord has something to teach me. Most often this includes learning how to wait upon Him. And even if I had wait a long time, it was always worth it.
In time, I would see how a particular problem or conflict somehow itself worked out because I first gave it to God in prayer. But it took time to learn this. As an oftentimes impatient person, which is part of my fallen nature, waiting for something to happen is not easy.
However, as the Scriptures declare, "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the Lord" (Psalm 27:14). Also, "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him" (Psalm 37:7a).
Yet, there were times when I didn't wait and tried to fix a certain matter on my own, only to find that I messed things up and made matters worse. In other words, I had to learn the hard way that I need to have more faith in the Lord and give my problems to Him.
So as I continue along on this journey of faith, I am seeing more than ever the reality of God's word. How for those who love Him, everything will work out well. This is the promise of Romans 8:28.
Give it all to God.
