The Scripture passage at the head of this entry says it all...
"Come to Me, all of you who are worn out from life's hardships and a seemingly endless string of problems and troubles. Just give it all to Me," says Messiah Jesus to His followers. And that includes me!
I've been pressed down, squeezed, burdened, overworked, and outright weary from months of trials and tribulations. But that's okay. After all, the Lord Jesus tells us that in this world we will encounter problems and troubles. "But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).
So that's what I've been doing. I've been learning to trust the Lord with my problems, troubles, and burdens by giving it all to Him. As a battle-weary soldier who thanks the Lord for His love, mercy, and grace, I have to remind myself that Jesus is also my burden bearer.
Yes, even though I've been walking with the Lord for many years, I still need to be reminded to do what the Word of God tells me to do. This being, "Casting all your cares upon the Lord, because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). Amen!
